Welcome to the Career and Technical Education area!

The Task Force, consisting of Directors of Career and Technical Education from the MCEA districts, addresses matters related to career and technical preparation of students. Among major issues of importance are state and federal funding for career and technical education in the K-12 system, employability skills standards development, school-to-work programs, coordinating efforts with the charges of the Michigan Jobs Commission, curriculum integration with general education coordination of CTE with community colleges, and developing partnerships with business and industry. They are currently considering a proposed State Career Preparation System which would provide an additional $30 million in State School Aid funding over the next two to three years.
